Director of Golf: Matthew Nice

Growing up in South Sioux City, NE, Matthew Nice has ties to the Northwest Iowa area. His passion for golf began to develop when he took up the game at the age of 12 under the tutelage of the generous PGA Master Professional, Tom Weekes. As he entered high school, Matt became a true competitor and was successful enough to earn a scholarship to Briar Cliff University in Sioux City, IA. Upon earning a Business degree with honors from Briar Cliff, Matt decided to make the game of golf a career beginning at Sioux City Country Club. He continued his career in the Quad Cities after being recruited as Head Professional by the Director of Golf of Crow Valley Golf Club, and then Head Golf Professional at Short Hills Country Club.

Through this time Matt has earned a reputation for developing golf operations that serve the needs of the community and facility clientele. Matt is especially respected for his knowledge of the golf swing and teaching ability. His knowledge and teaching style made him a sought after teacher with members of his facilities and the golfing community of the Quad City area. Matt is dedicated to creating Junior Golf and teaching programs for men and women of all abilities as ages. In correlation with his teaching ability he is also trusted as a certified club fitter for Titleist, Ping, Mizuno, and Cobra equipment lines. Throughout this time he has also maintained his playing ability participating in two Dakota Dunes Open Nike Tour events and currently as a top competitor within the PGA.

Matt is very excited to be a part of The Ridge Golf Club and Sioux Center community with his wife, Katie, and two children. He fully intends to create community pride in The Ridge Golf Club by making it the leading golf facility in Northwest Iowa. Overall, Matt's goal is to cultivate a welcoming environment and enjoyment of the game of golf at The Ridge Golf Club.
